To change the layout of the page, select "Layout Template" from the drop down menu by your welcome message in the upper-right area of the page.

To move applications (portlets) around on the page, use drag and drop from the title bar of the application being moved.

To hide or show the edit controls on a page, use "Toggle Edit Controls" from the drop down menu by your welcome message in the upper-right area of the page.

To add an application (portlet) to the page, choose "Add Application" from the drop down menu by your welcome message in the upper-right area of the page.

To delete an application (portlet) from a page, click on the "X" in the title bar of the application.
