A simple description of the ICC Community

(I'd put a simple description of ICC here, but there is no application to put in a simple block of text, so here is a Blog entry which is a pretty poor way to do it. -- sigh)

The Intersociety Cooperation Committee’s (ICC) purpose is to stimulate the development of relationships between the IEEE Computer Society and other organizations with similar or related interests for the purpose of benefiting the members of the IEEE Computer Society and the profession.  The ICC interacts with other organizations to study, plan, and coordinate actions which lead to mutually acceptable cooperative activities.  These organizations include entities within the IEEE and also with other national and international professional and scientific organizations in the computer and related fields.  The ICC acts as a catalyst for cooperative activities that are agreeable to the responsible program boards and committees of the Society.

The committee is chaired by the immediate past president, and consists of the president, president-elect, and the subcommittee chairs.
